BPC DONATES SOLAR-POWERED BOREHOLE TO MOGOBANE INCLUSIVE CENTRE

In a commendable act of corporate social responsibility, Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) has donated a 5.5kW solar-powered borehole to the Mogobane Inclusive Centre. The donation, facilitated through the Botswana Council for the Disabled (BCD), was announced during the CEO Cycling Challenge yesterday.
The Mogobane Inclusive Centre supports individuals with disabilities, and this initiative is set to significantly enhance their capacity for self-sufficiency. The solar-powered borehole will provide a sustainable water source for irrigating the centre’s vegetable garden. This will not only boost food production for consumption but also create opportunities for income generation through the sale of surplus produce.
The BCD expressed gratitude to BPC for their impactful contribution and called on other organizations to follow suit in empowering persons with disabilities in Botswana. Such initiatives play a crucial role in fostering inclusivity and promoting sustainable development within communities.
This donation underscores the importance of partnerships between corporations and social organizations in addressing societal challenges and supporting vulnerable groups. The Mogobane Inclusive Centre is now better positioned to thrive, thanks to this generous and forward-thinking intervention by BPC.
